Vic Volare & His Fabulous Volare Lounge Orchestra

Vic Volare Bio

Vic Volare

A world famous lounge singer and adventurer who has battled the forces of mediocrity and injustice with the silky sounds of swing, Vic Volare is taking the world by storm. Throngs of fans surround him, but few know of his humble beginnings and tumultuous rise to fame.

Vic Volare was born Marcello Pregopesto in the tough mill town of Steubenville, Ohio. Son of Italian immigrants, Vic's mother was an out of work sponge diver and his father was an organ grinder with a small monkey. It was from his father's calliope that he learned his love of music. But he distrusted the monkey, so young Marcello dropped out of school at 16 to rack balls at a pool hall in a less-reputable part of town. It was a good job that paid $8 per day, but Vic never lost his love for beautiful music.

One day, Marcello came across a powder-blue lounge jacket in the window of a local clothing store. There was something about the jacket seemed to pull him into the store, something he was powerless to resist. Marcello tried on the jacket, and was transformed. He later described the moment as "magical". For the first time, he recalled, "I felt the love." Marcello's heart filled with song, and his destiny became clear. At that moment, Marcello Pregopesto became Vic Volare!

To earn extra money, he began to sing at the Illuminati Club, a nightclub allegedly owned by Duke Ferrari, local olive oil importer and legitimate businessman. Duke took a liking to Vic, and soon moved him to bigger clubs within his network of completely reputable and legitimate nightclubs in the Midwest. As he moved from club to club, Vic assembled his cadre of loyal musicians who would later form the Fabulous Volare Lounge Orchestra.

Over time, he honed his musical skills and silver-tongued charm, creating the distinctive sound he has today.

It was during this time that Vic met King Kini, the warped scientific genius who later became Vic's most dangerous enemy. King Kini was once one of Vic's most ardent admirers. It is unclear how the rift came about that drove these lounge denizens apart, but it is rumored that King Kini asked Vic to play at his club, the Polynesian Tiki Room. Vic was flattered, but was unable to play because of his iron-clad and wholly legitimate and legal oral contract with Mr. Ferrari. King Kini took this to be a personal slight to his tropical tastes, becoming enraged and obsessed with Mr. Volare. Thus, the friendship as destroyed and King Kini has been Vic's sworn enemy ever since.

Of course, this is only a rumor.

Today, Vic Volare enjoys a strong following in lounges and nightclubs at home and abroad. He has made his home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but considers himself a citizen of the world. His music charms the pants off hundreds of people each week.
