Vic Volare & His Fabulous Volare Lounge Orchestra

The Volare Lounge Orchestra

Corey Needleman DRUMS

Better known as "Dr." Corey Needleman. Remember kids he's not a real doctor he just plays one on tv. Corey has been with the VLO since the fall of 2000. Much like his nickname suggests he has the cure for all ailments. His prescription is a simple blend of swing and a smile. After only a few moments of Corey's infectious grooves all his patients open their mouths and say aaahhh. In just a short time his family practice has grown to include the scores of swing lovers and enthusiasts who call their home the twin cities. There's never a wait in this doctors waiting room. So sit back relax and let Dr. Needleman's medication take effect.

Chuck Keane SAXOPHONES

Chuck has been the resident reed man in the VLO since the fall of 2006. He may look mild mannered but really he's more of a medium hot mannered kinda guy. He lets his horn do the talkin'. If you have ever heard him play you know he says a lot and has an exquisite vocabulary. He is our resident Herby the Elf. Much like the loveable character from the Rudolph Christmas Special, Chuck has left his former career behind him to become a dentist. Way to go Chuck!

Matt Senjem BASS

Matt has been a full time member of the VLO since the fall of 2006. He plays the bass with the greatest of ease. I recently asked him how he plays the bass so well he said "well Vic it's not brain science." I thought that was kinda funny because he's a brain scientist at his day gig in Rochester. Something to do with Alzheimer studies or something like that but I can't remember what he does for sure. Anyway he plays a mean Bass and when he's not playing with the VLO he is a founding member of "the Twin Cities Hot Club."

Jeff Levine TRUMPET

Jeff has been with the VLO since the winter of 2000. Not to be confused with Dave Levine the former sax player, (no they are not related) Jeff is in a league of his own. When he gets his trumpet a blowin' heads turn and people take note. Master of style and finess, I have seen Jeff make a grown man laugh and cry simultaneously! When the man was asked to describe his emotions he merely replied "this IS better than Cats man!" What more could you ask for in a performer?

Matt Darling TROMBONE

Matt has been with the VLO since Jan 2003 and is the senior member of the Amore Horn Section. Astute in the art of relaxation his motto is "a sage does nothing great that is why he is able to achieve greatness." This philosophy explains why Matt makes the arduous task of pushing and pulling the slide trombone seem so effortless. At first glance you may not think he is working at all. But upon further examination it is evident that he is truly workin' it!
